Yr8 Camp Writing

In the weekends, I got my gear ready and packed my bags so that I can go on a camp up the line at whangarei. Its near a little community of marsden and is a peaceful and tranquilizing place to live. We went there and spent 4 days experiencing the awesome activities like, the flying fox, the home made waterslide, kayaking and archery, we also had fun memories playing volley ball.

When I was on my way to Pt England, I was really excited to be out of auckland. Finally I got dropped off to school I waved my mum goodbye, and saw my friend lukis. We walked with each other to the hall so we can get called our group names and to meet up with everyone. My name got called out and I was in the group Ruakaka B. I saw plenty of my other friends and was excited that all the boys were gonna kickback and hangout also bond like brothers.

We were on our way, I waved at all the mums and teachers watching us lift off. This was gonna be a week to remember. The journey took close to about 2-3 hours in total from Auckland ,G.I Pt England to Whangarei Marsden Bay Camp. But there was a twist, we went for an hours bushwalk through a very hard, muddy and huffing and puffing course. I stayed in the back for most of the time, then as we went further I went farrer to the front.

Finally the Course had come to an end and I was really happy it was. WE had a We went for little morning tea then went on a 30 minute walk ahead to a beach. We had free time, we could go for a swim in the very cold water, look for mussels, play at the rocks, build sand stuff or just enjoy the sun. I went for a swim then went and buried myself so I could look like a mermaid. It was time to go to the real action at camp.

We finally arrived at camp and unloaded all the bags and gear. I was amazed at how clean and fun it looked. Then the owner, took us on a very cool tour around the camp site. I saw the flying fox and the waterslide they may have been the only highlights at camp. Then we got to go to our awesome cabins and have free time and most of the Yr8’s showered. I was In Frankie, Logan, Texas and Lukis cabin.

It was time to experience my first afternoon at camp, I went to volleyball. I really loved volley because the court was entirely sand! I never knew I had a lot skill at volleyball, then I went on the deck and hanged out and played songs on the guitar. Shortly after that, we had dinner and dessert and the food was delicious and great tasting. Then we have 30 minutes free time and then meet back at the deck. We played games, and sang songs then shortly after that it was sleep time.

On the next day we got a surprise, all of the boys had to run around the field at 6 in the morning! It was freezing like 100 bags of Ice Cubes all around my feet. After that hard run, my foot felt very numb, then we got ready for breakfast. We had a good day planned and I was very happy, we had to pack our lunch and get our day pack. Our first activity was archery, I was a beginner so it was difficult. I never got a any of the targets and I failed. And to top it off, it started raining above us.

Our second activity was an indoor activity, so we had to get dried up before we could continue. So, we had the cooking challenge which was when we have to start a fire and make eggs and marshmallows, the old fashioned way. When we started, WE had received an orange between two. The aim, was to make poached eggs using the orange’s, in a fire. So we had to scoop the insides of the orange and use that as an bowl for our eggs to cook in. We foiled our babies, then we cooked them inside the centre of the burning fire. After a while, I got my one out and ate my poached egg and it was really delicious.

After eating that delicious poached egg, we made another meal, a marshmallow with 2 thin biscuits as buns for your marshmallow sandwiches. We had to first cook the marshmallow until its fully brown, then put the two biscuits on each side. Sadly my Marshmallows always turned out to be black. I was really full and I was happy we had free time. I played basketball in the hall with my friends. I never knew I had skills at basketball too. Lastly our last activity was kayaking at a lake not far from camp.

At kayaking, we got some advice from one of the helpers about kayaking and the boundaries at the lake. We got in our kayaks and went down the river, our helper asked us if we wanted a race around, I looked back and everyone had left and couldn't handle the cold rain. I came first and I never knew I had skill at kayaking too. I helped pack away the kayaks and I was freezing cold. I got my gear and left the lake and walked back to the camp base.

I got back to school and had a rinse off and dried up for lunch. Lunch was another amazing meal. After that, I got our stuff and showered. I finally was warm and I was happy that we had free time. Sadly it was raining which meant that the sand on the Volleyball court and I was sad but luckily the movie room was open. I stayed and played with all my friends, we went on the piano and I waited patiently for dinner and dessert. We had another great meal and another tasty dessert and I was very full on the very yum food. The movie had started, we got to get our sleeping bags and pillows.

The movie was about a person who had to save his schools music class. He needed to get $4,000 to help save the music programme. He didn't have any ideas for cash, so he joined cage fighting. He started off as a noob but as he trained, trained and trained. So he worked his way up into the professional fighting. He got organised a fight at UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) So hes won and saved his school music programme. Overall I thought it was an great movie, so did the others.

On the last day We had to go surf ed and learn some Surfing skill at a beach out of marsden. I was really paying attention and learnt a lot of stuff. On the last Night we had to Go to a camp fire and perform group performances. We sang songs and We were all happy. On the last day we went to waiwera and spent the day there its a pool function. I went home and was happy to see my sister and family.

Why is it Important to have School/ Class rules.

Why is it Important to have School/ Class rules.

Rules are the most important thing to be remembered, and also you’re manners. Today Im going to be writing about why school rules are really important. It is really important to have rules and I'm going to be writing about. It can ruin your chance of getting a scholar to a good College.

If Schools like Pt England did not have rules, people wouldn't know if they’re pushing their luck and their boundaries. Schools would be really bad and there would be a lot of disrespectful kids walking around. There would be a lot of graffiti on the walls and a lot of talking and disrespect going to the teacher. A lot of violence were to happen, People with no school uniform would appear and even bullying would happen to the helpless students.

Without rules, Kids would have a lot of freedom and that freedom can lead to a lot of dodgy things. The teacher wouldn't want to be teaching anymore, and if that continues in other classes also can lead to a shutdown school, an abandoned school and it can even get replaced. In the school properties, there are a lot of updated school supplies like Mac computers, Ipads and Netbooks, thats why you need to be responsible and take charge of your stuff.

Its compulsory to watch your back, because people could come out of no where and shank you. It would be dangerous going in the corridor, and even going to the toilets. People would cause a lot of chaos and that can lead to mob fights and also deaths. Students, who get bullied sometimes need protecting and thats why they get police to help.

Term 4 Immersion Assembly writing.

Sadly our 2 Week holiday came to an end. It was sad that it was over and also happy school was starting. Everyone was so happy to see their mates and teachers. As I was walking to school I saw my Classmates Frankie, Texas, Lukis and Anthony. They were shouting “Sup Toni” as Toni is my nickname at school.

Everyone walked in to class filled with excitement to see the rest of the class and the teacher. We all said What's up to each other and talked about our Awesome holidays. Our topic is ART ATTACK. Mrs Lagitupu Said “line up for Immersion Assembly” and we all went outside. We were also excited to see our friends in the other classes.

We walked to the hall and saw my other friends, they said “Play touch at lunch?” I said “Yes” . We sat down and got introduced to our new topic Art attack by Mr Burt. He had a Ipad Mini Strapped to his chest with duct tape and it was very funny.

First Team 1’s Item was about the Environment and How they are going to go the the beach to collect natural items around the beach, and use it for art.

Next Team 2 had a movie at the beginning about the 3 primary colors, which are Red, Blue and yellow, and how they can make every other Color in the world. Then they came on the stage and threw chocolate fishes everywhere.

After that Team 3 had made a little walkthrough with some very very famous painters. The only two I remember were Leonardo Da Vinci and Andy Warhol. I also learnt new painting styles like pointillism, when you do dots for painting, and drip painting .

Team 4 had something similar to Team 3’s act. They were acting like very famous painters and there were a lot of famous painters. They all had their own painting styles and different expressions in painting. The one that caught my eye was the Tapa painting.

Lastly the Team 5 teachers did 3 portraits of the Important people in our school. Mr Burt, Mr Jacobsen and Mrs Jarman. They really looked simple, basic and original. Everyone was shocked when they Flipped the portraits over, they crowed went ”WOOOW”

Wesley Rugby Tournament

On the 23rd of September, The Rugby squad from Pt England, are going to compete at the Tournament out at Paerata.
Out at Wesley college, they are having a Rugby tournament and have invited us to take part in this awesome event. We are not only going to be Representing our school, but the EAST of the region. There are going to be schools from the South-side. This is going to be the most challenging Tournament we’ve had so far, thats why we have very hard trainings.

Every week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays we’ve been having the most painful and roughest trainings yet. I think that we will do very well because we have a lot of talented rugby players in our team and also big guys. Our coach, Mazel had told the whole team that this will be a good opportunity to get scouted into Wesley by playing hard. We can also have the opportunity to meet Jonah Lomu in PERSON! , and have a game with him.

I am really looking foward, and I think that Pt England can come 1st because we’re going to play like theres no tommorow. Everyone is going to play for their families, our school and our friends. Im playing as prop for my position, and Im a forward.

Cross Country (2014)

Annually, Pt England school have cross country. We have it to represent our house teams, and to have fun and get fit. This is an activity for the whole school to participate in. We’ve all been going for runs every day, for the past few weeks to prepare for this day.

“Today is the day” I said waiting patiently waiting for the Yr 8’s turn to run. I dressed up in my green shirt and my black shorts. There were a lot of people dressed up detailed, but I went basic because I don't want anything to hold and drag me down. I’m in Mataatua, the Green house. There are 3 other houses. Te Arawa (RED) Tainui (BLUE) and lastly Takitimu (YELLOW).

Watching the Yr6 girls run, I could see how hard they were puffing and sweating. I felt nervous just watching them. On their last lap, they were struggling to even run, as they ran, ran and ran and their race was over. “Here comes the Yr8 boys”. Lining up nervously and walking to the start line. It felt like my legs were going to collapse, standing unstable.

Mr Burt said “READY, SET GO! Everyone all sprinted and ran hard, but I stayed back and paced myself. Going around the 3rd Corner, I was so puffed already and I couldn't go no more, but I still pushed myself.

I kept on running and people were falling back and I was getting closer to the front. I dropped back because I was tired and my foot hurt. Plus I waited for my friend Esrah. We ran the Course and Esrah and I were on our last lap and we waited for more people at the back. At the back of us, I saw that the Yr8 Girls had catch us and we managed to beat them. At the end, We wanted to do a superman jump chain.

Letter to John Key.

TO : MR JOHN KEY
--------------------------------------------------------

I am writing this letter to notify you and make you aware about the problems plastic bags a making around the world.

Plastic is very handy in many ways. It can be melted into bags, cartons, bottles and toys for the kids and much much more. They can also be made into cutlery and cups, so if you’re having a very big feast just stop by your local budget shop and buy some. You can also get bags from shops and supermarkets.

Unfortunately plastic bags have a down side. Some animals in the marine life always starve and when they can’t find food, they mistake plastic bags as food. They can choke, suffocate, get stomach aches and even die. Did you even know that there is a floating island made out of plastic in the ocean?

Plastics have become the most common pollutant in the ocean. They’ve made a huge negative impact to the beaches and our environment. We have discovered huge problems with the marine life, and that’s why we all need to step up to fix this issue.

We should all do something about this problem. It’s damaging our environment and we might have no future. We should all take care of mother nature and stop littering plastic bags around the world. We should be like UK and ban plastic bags. In supermarkets we should use paper bags our cotton bags, even our normal school bags!

In my opinion, we should all ban plastic bags. Not only from shop’s but from supermarkets too. This should be the solution to solve the not only the problem with the marine life but the environmental issues. This could make our world a better place, and could help mother nature in different ways.

I hope that you can do something about this.

Yours Sincerly

~Antonio

The polynesians form..

Why exercising when you're a Kid is very important.

Children like me should exercise every day for a lot of reasons. One of the main reasons kids exercise, is to be very active and fit. Also its good to start off little so you’ll be more experienced when you're older and you could teach younger generations.

One reason for exercising when you're a kid is because you need to stay active and fit. You also need to lose weight and look in shape everywhere you go. Exercising when you're younger is very good so you can improve your stamina and your endurance, also it helps with your mentality strength. Running, Jogging or running is good to maintain your stamina and endurance levels. Exercising when you’re little is very good so you can win cross country and athletic’s and thats why you train when you're a little kid.

Exercising everyday also helps you with your mentality strength. And you can use use your mentality strength and use that strength in other areas for school so you can be very smart. It also strengthens your body so you can handle the cold and so you can get sick, or else your lifespan will go down and you will be sick, unless you get medicated.

You gotta look for the girls too. You need to build muscle and look good so you can get a date. Also you need to get bulky and big so people get scared of you and that when you’re in a fight, you can be big and tough so your hits would be critical. Also doing bench press gives you a big chest and doing weights make your arms bigger.

If you like to play league or sport, training when you’re a kid is a great time to begin. So you can be familiar with the rules and so you could be way faster than the opposition. You need to be fit also because if you’re in a fight and 6 giants come up to you, you can't take them on and you need to run, run and run as fast as you can.

I hope that you get why exercising is really important when you're little to exercise. Even if you're fat you can lose weight and become the best, thats why you need to exercise as a kid, so you can be a league please.

Why taking care of your Mind and Body is very Important.

Your body and your mind is one of the most important things in your life, because our brain is like our engine for our body and our body is the car. I will always look after my body and my family’s too. because I don't wanna lose them or want harm to my body. One way to look after your body is to eat the right foods like Veggies, fruits and meat. We also need to stay hydrated, thats why we drink water or juice.

From those foods and water, we get vitamins, minerals and carbs and much much more. Vitamins, Minerals and much much other things take care of our inside’s like our liver, kidneys, our stomach and most of all our heart. Carbohydrates are what we need for energy and we find those from wheat, bread, pasta and rice. If we don't use those carbs, those carbs turn into fat.

Inside our bodies we have things like our heart, our kidneys, or liver and our digestive system. Our hearts are like gold to us, because without our heart we wouldn't be alive and it takes care of the blood. Our liver in the other hand, is the hardest working thing in our body because it takes care of more than 200 things in our body! Kidney’s help with important things in the body too. People also donate their livers and kidneys to the people who can die, because their ones failed.

Did you know that all humans only use 10 percent of their brains, and that when you around the age of 25 your brain is fully developed? Drugs and Alcohol are shutdowns for our body and mind. Drugs can change the way you act and also can change the way your brain functions. Marijuana is also bad for our bloodstream and can also slow us down in everything.

It also has a chemical which stick’s in your body for 3 months that’s why when you get a drug test you’ll get snapped. Also, it can muck around with your moods, it can make you sad, happy, down, and crossed. Alcohol spirits and wine can also kill you. It puts you in a drunk mood. You can get uncaussions, get double vision and it makes you funny.

Life Education.

For the past couple of Years, Lynn and Harold have been traveling to different schools throughout New Zealand. It’s now time that Harold came back to our school. This is the last year that Harold will be visiting the Yr 8’s because this is our last year in Primary.

This Year the Yr8’s and 7’s have been learning about drugs and alcohol and how they can affect us as we move on in our life into secondary school and adulthood.

During our first lesson, we met six people and they had problems with drugs and alcohol. They did not know what the consequences would be and weren't thinking when they were using drugs.

In the second lesson, we learnt about spirit’s and also alcohol. We also learnt about what drugs can do to your inside’s. Our class also viewed a movie about the six people who started taking drugs and one of them died. I also learnt about inhalants, NOS, Cocaine and Meth and other bad drugs.

On our last lesson, we learnt about a kid from Kings College who overdosed in alcohol at a party on saturday night. He was known to be the fittest i his grade and he was an all rounder. We also got viewed pictures of people who drank too much alcohol and went over the top.

Tongans also do Umu’s, which are underground ovens, they’re similar to hangi’s in maori. In Tonga, mostly Everyone speaks Tongan, also some Tongans speak English too. Their flag is a red cross on the top left corner and the rest is all red. It is to represent Jesus’s blood and how the Lord died for us.

Immersion Assembly - Term 3 2014

As I  walked through the gate’s of Pt England I was very excited and I was really looking forward to school, and seeing my school mate’s. The first thing I did was walk straight to my classroom. Then I saw my 2 mate’s Brandon and James. When our teacher came she told us to take our bag’s inside, then line up for Immersion assembly. Our topic for 2014 Term 3 was “Game on”

We walked to the hall and saw that every teacher was dressed up as countries with flag’s on their back’s, it felt like I was walking into a circus act. As we took as seat we saw our te reo  teacher Miss tito, riding her racing bike on the stage. We were listening to the intro song. Then Mr Jacobsen (Our Co-Principle) was our principle because our real principle was in england visiting his daughter. Mr Jacobsen ridden his bike to the front of the hall and said “Welcome to SCHOOL!”

Team 1’s performance was about the Olympic’s and Where all the athlete’s came from. The movie was also funny because they green screened and Mrs george was the queen also she was the star of the movie. At the end all the teacher’s got up one the stage and bowed down, and the also introduced a new teacher. Team 2 Had a movie about the olympic’s too. They were dressed up and very humorous. Everyone laughed and were very shocked to how funny Mrs She was.

Team 3 Did a very funny performance with teacher’s acting and dancing as athlete’s from the Glasgow commonwealth games. Mrs barks was the talker/speech person. They were very funny and their performance was good. Team 4 did a movie and also got the crowd moving and laughing. They were dressed up as they’re colors from their country’s. The Star of the movie was the reggae teacher.

Team 5 was the adventure movie. All teachers in the Team 5 block traveled around the world. Mrs nua traveled to spain, Mrs Squire’s traveled, Mrs Clarke went to New york, Mrs paget went to Atlanta - US, and Mrs Lagitupu stayed in NZ. They all had a adventure over sea’s. Over all, this Immersion assembly was awesome and cool.

Australian Football League, Known as AFL Or Aussie rules, is a sport that Pt england school is Learning this term. AFL Is one of the most paid & played sport in australia. Aussie rules is very different too League or Rugby union, especially the goalposts and the points.

There are 12 bounces you do with the ball because you need to pass it to get to the goal but you’re only allowed 17 walks so you have to be strategic. What is echolocation?

What is echolocation? Echolocation is when you use echoes or sound to detect things and find out where something is. Some animals in the dark use echolocation to navigate through the dark, and to find food to eat as they sleep during the day. Dolphins also use echolocation to find food and to communicate with families miles away.

There is something also called bio sonar (echolocation), which is another tool that people, whales and dolphins use to navigate through water. Sailors use sonar to find shipwrecks and to navigate through rough seas. There is a downside to sonar in the marine life. If dolphins hear sonar they immediately rush to the surface of the water and this can make air bubbles in the tissue of dolphins and it can lead to eternal bleeding.

Other animals such as bats use echolocation to hunt down their prey. They make a little sound with their mouth and it vibrates to the prey and bounces back. That determines and pinpoints where the prey is and then they go in for the kill. That’s why bats sleep at during the daytime and why they have such big ears that are curved inwards.

Ben underwood was a person who suffered eye cancer at the age of two. His mum spotted something different in his eyes. His eyes were removed. He learnt how to use his other senses, especially his hearing. He used his mouth to click. The clicks vibrated off objects so he knew where the objects were. He was unique because he was the only person in the world to use echolocation.

State Of Orgin.

Every year ever since 1908, two states have been facing off each year. They are rivals to each other. One name of a team is New South Wales, and their rival is Queensland. Queensland have been on a 9 year streak without losing a year.

In the olden day Nsw use to win every year for 19 years, their tool was the 1st Five, Andrew Johns. Andrew Johns were the Nsw’s winning tool, he did great kick without a miss. He had a famous kick the Death Bomb which is a kick that goes extremely high.

Sadly Andrew Johns had retired leaving only leaving QueensLand with an advantage to win and come back at New South Wales. Ever Since then QLD have been winning their games exept 2005 when Andrew Came back and helped them win but Andrew Johns got caught with drugs and had to stop playing League. I hope that New South Wins this year because We won Game 1 in 2014.

Pt England Vs St Peter's College.

On Wednesday the 11th St Peters College’s rugby team traveled all the way to Pt England to have a friendly rugby match. It was cool because I was in the rugby team, my position was prop and I was really nervous when our team started, it was pretty dumb because I was reserve. I was not allowed to play because my behaviour in class was bad and not good. I was on my last chance to redeem my self in class then My teacher allowed me to play.

We all got ready and sorted out our uniform and positions, the cool thing was that the ref was my Friend Frankie's dad. At Kick off I was sitting on the sideline waiting for my coach to put me on I was really desperate for time to play. Our full back Jabez got a runaway try and we converted our try, our team was the first to score. We got more into the game, intensity was higher and everyone was angry and played hard, our team started losing possession on the field and St Peter's got a trie they, converted successfully.

Sadly Pt England had lost and all our anger was drained and we said our cheers and shaked hands. Over all I think that the game we had was awesome and hard work, especially the feed we got from our coach which was Fish ‘n Chips and bread plus a drink, then we had riverside.

Technology At Tamaki.

Every now and then Intermediate students from Pt england have been walking down to tamaki for tech for over 4 years. There are two days when we normally go, its tuesday & thursday. There are 3 different stations at tech, 1 is Food tech where you cook and create dishes and eat it all while you’re there, Number 2 is hard materials where you make and create your own stuff like necklaces and decorations for your house, Lastly theres graphics where you draw pictures and create little things out of paper.

You have to do your very best at everything because all your scores you get at tech appears on your report card. My first time at tech was amazing because we had food tech. The first meal we made was fruit salad and it was DELICIOUS! And we learn new things which is good for our future as adults. We get privileges that some schools around our area don't have. Thats why going to tamaki for tech is a gift from them.

My favourite station was hard material because I really liked using new tools for cutting our template for our necklace made out of metal. I feel really good going tamaki because we get out of class for the morning and have something to work on at home if we're bored, and it gets us ready for life at college. We also get to have our stuff that we create too.

Cybersmart.

Being smart on the internet is one of the most important things on a computer. We all know that you can delete history on your laptop, but what you don't know is that everything you do on the internet stays on the internet. Its like if you bought new carpet, and someone with dirty shoes had come in then the shoes would stain your carpet right? and all the dirt would stay on forever, until you vacuum your carpet.

Thats why being cyber smart is really important, that's why we all have to say nice things on the net not bad ones. As An Yr8, we have to be role models and show the younger generation what’s good and what’s bad. And this is why you have to choose your friends properly and on hang with people who are good influences. Like the quote at assembly, Your future lies before you poem, It settled a great example to our school to be good and cyber smart.

How to cook bacon.

How to cook bacon:

First add butter or oil into your pan, but make sure you’ve washed your hands and washed your pan. Slice your bacon into little strips, but your bacon may already come sliced. Then cook 5 mins each side at 150 degrees. Make sure you do not burn them or over cook your bacon. Then serve with anything you like with bread a burger, but mostly it suits with eggs and juice. Make sure you’re a good cooker and know how to cook, but if you’re not then ask an adult to help you. There are different ways to cook bacon like baking bacon with other food.

Why Swim Important.

          WHY SWIM IMPORTANT.
Swimming is very important because water is nearly everywhere in New Zealand. Its one of the most important things in nz, because we have lots of beaches and Swimming pools around, and because families always go the beach when its hot and if a big waves come and drag you out into the dark sea, you're dead.

New Zealand had one of the most highest drowning rates in the world. Drowning is the 3rd most caused deaths in New Zealand thats why learning to swim is very important because it can prevent death in so much ways. In fact I live near the swimming pools and I always the pools to help improve my swimming, but Im Trespassed.

Say if you went out fishing with your dad and you caught a big 90kg fish and your little dinghy capsized and you and your dad had no life jackets and it was in the middle of the ocean at Five in the afternoon, your dads lives at risk, your own life is at stake.

With music we can remember old memories. music can also change our moods from happy to sad, to sad to crying. Music is very good as a calming down tool, when your angry you can listen to your favourite song. Music is very Entertaining

There are different types of music, like Classical, R&B, Pop, Jazz, Reggae, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s,Country and much, much more. I listen to music when Im bored and when I’m in a car I like listening to R&B and

Last year in 2013, a famous artist named Will.i.am came to Pt england school to Visit Nz and see Pt england. He donated $100.000 dollars towards the Manaiakalani Cluster, which is a Program for the schools in the Glen Innes area and farrer. He said that he was born and raised in a poor environment and he his mum was struggling in pressure. Now his families living in no stress. He motivated us to make songs and his songs are pretty awesome.

Without music, you can't really do anything. The world would be boring, you would fall asleep when you driving. Parties wouldn't go with the flow if their was no music. And music can improve your talking and it can make you learn new words and vocabulary.

Impact: What loud music In the club can do is damage your eardrums and you may not be able to get your hearing back. Playing instruments like a guitar is very good because it can work both sides of your brain and improve your thinking. Some songs can make you cry when you think about your memories, or songs can make you scared. Some music can even make you sleep, and music can motivate you to get up and do something.

A Guitar.

BRAINSTORM:---
Nylon strings, strumming, echo, movement, melody, pressure, rhythm, sensitivity, noise, reflecting, notes,
picking, harmony, |-------------------------------------|

The shape of a guitar is a bit funny looking. Because it look’s like a pear shaped guitar with a long bridge where all the frets are. If you're wondering why there is a big hole on your guitar, it’s because that hole makes the sound more louder and more clearer.

When you strum the strings attached to the guitar, the strings make a sound which reflects off the hole behind the strings to make a sound which can be used for songs and entertainment.

There are different types of guitar’s in the world, like a electric guitar which can make different sound when you plug it into an amplifier, an acoustic guitar which is like a normal one and a twelve string guitar. Every guitar also contains tuning keys for when you want to tune your guitar.

To play a guitar you must make a shape on the long bridge, then strum the strings the on the big hole and strum. You can make a big combination and make your own songs. Guitars all started in Spain and someone had the idea to put strings on wood.
I think that guitars are one of the most common instruments in houses like pianos. Guitars are also famous because they’re included in many famous songs and mostly every song. Guitars are very precious and there’s a lot of types and shaped ones.

Funnel paper, ears Experiment.

Science experiment:

Question: What will happen to the sound if I change the shape of a piece of paper? (e.g. from a flat shape to a funnel shape)

Links to research about Sound:

Hypothesis: (What do you think will happen?) e.g. I think that Each position would change. And I think that you can still hear but not clearly.

Materials needed: Tissue’s, Paper and tape to hold the structure.

Experiment (procedure):

e.g. Step 1 - First hold a flat piece of paper against your ear. Block your other ear with your hand. Get your partner to speak to you. What is the sound like? Can you hear clearly?

Step 2 - Next, roll the piece of paper into a funnel shape. Put the funnel against your ear. Face the funnel towards your partner and listen to them speak. What does it sound like? Can you hear clearly?

Step 3 - Next, face the funnel to the side while your partner speaks

Step 4 - When your partner Speaks, write down what it sounds like.

Step 5 - Switch position’s and see the difference.

Data (What happened?)

Shape/object/materials
Results:
1
flat piece of paper
Nearly the same  as normal hearing
2
funnel facing to the front
Sounds loud and there's little sound in the background
3
funnel facing to the side
Nearly Clear but theres lots of sound in the background.
4
cotton ball blocking funnel
Still can hear but it you can’t hear what they're saying clearly.
5
rolled up piece of paper (facing to the front)
Very clear not muffed.
6
rolled up piece of paper (facing to the side)
Nearly the same as No.5. Not clear.

Observations:
We had to get a flat piece of paper and it was nearly like normal hearing.Sounded funny because there was a little noise in the background.
.Was clear as well and there was also a little noise in the background. Was not so clear but you could hear properly, it sounded muffled Was very clear. Was nearly the same as No.5.

Conclusion:
Through all the effort and hustle, we managed to finish our experiment. I found my hypothesis a bit right because when we changed the shape of paper and positions, the sound always changed.
